Dear Husband,

Happy Birthday Love!! I’m so excited to celebrate another birthday as your wife. Where is the time flying? I wrote on our nephews birthday card lots of descriptive words- handsome, huntsman, adventurous, compassionate- all of those I can use to describe you. I could honestly fill up pages trying to tame the many words that make you the man you are.

I think what I want you to know the most is last month at Whole Foods, when you prayed over our salad bar dinner. I didn’t quite hear your prayer that day honestly. I was distracted by the teenage boy watching you pray for us. I was busy sending up my own prayer that you’d make a lasting impression on that young boy, that he would grow up to lead a wife of his own one day, the way you lead me to Christ.

I’m so thankful for your patience. You’re slow to anger… and we both know that’s a good thing since you live with a wife that explodes like a firecracker. That you keep track of our tithes and keep all that straight for us. I’m thankful you haven’t given up trying to break me of my potty mouth (sorry mom and dad!)

I love that you love hunting. That it’s one of your passions and hobbies. That when you walked the dogs through the field the other day, you and our girls were distracted by all the doves on the fence line. I could practically hear you saying bang in your head. I’m excited it’s fall because I love seeing your tall self in flannel or camo coming home after a morning of hunting.

There are so many reasons I love you, one of which is that you’re private about our family life and not into the whole internet/fb thing. So I’ll leave it at that and stop embarrassing you on the internet =) I want you to know though I am so incredibly proud to be your wife. I love your integrity and am so blessed your my husband.
