Most brides are superstitious– the old adage something new, something old, something borrowed, something blue proves that– and the idea planning for a wedding on the 13th would be instantly be dismissed. 13 is Kristen’s lucky number though, and the day was absolutely perfect for her. It was a quintessential California day: sunny, warm, and filled with all the good things in life like love, family, and dance moves.
When Kristen walked down the aisle on her father’s arm, eyes spilling over, she didn’t just see a man in a suit at the end, she saw Ruben– her hope, future, stability, partner, and best friend. The wedding was personal and filled with love. After their vows, Kristen and Ruben ate, drank, and danced surrounded by friends and family. The whole night, they kept sharing the special smiles only newlyweds can pass between them…
They waited until the ceremony to see each other, but found a cute way to share some sweet words together…
Aghh I was choking up when I saw those tears!!
I cannot tell you all how much I loved getting to take some photos after the ceremony!!
I was just about to bust with all the gorgeousness going on!
The colors of California did not disappoint…
Such a beautiful couple!!
The sunshine was also very California! I’m enthralled by everything West Coast now
Love this gorgeous bride!! We’ve been friends through lots of years and mileage! Pool parties, sleep overs, hang outs, phone calls, homecomings, proms, band camps and practices, drinking vino in Madrid. You name it, we’ve done it. Love ya Kris!!
I pretty sure this was when I got all squeely and “OMGEE!! Ruben! you so married this hottie!!”
Love never looked so good!
Ruben, I’m so glad you two found each other!
These are my favorite photos of the wedding!!
West Coast, I love you and your palm trees!
It was calling for hot weather in the 80s but we got super lucky with warm 70s and gorgeous cloud coverage
I was just going to post bride and groom portraits.. but, really I couldn’t leave this crew off of the blog!
The Swansons are like my second family and I know there are many other friends that feel the same way- this family has a way of scooping you up in a big hug.
The lovely ladies…
I’ll end with my friend Becky (also the maid of honor and Bride’s sis) because she was a gem in helping me get them settled/posed and capturing photos. Thanks for all your help dear!
