Intimate Wool Factory Wedding in Charlottesville | Hannah & Joe

Hannah & Joe | An Intimate Wool Factory Wedding in Charlottesville, Virginia

Some wedding days feel like a celebration from beginning to end. Hannah and Joe’s intimate Wool Factory wedding in Charlottesville, Virginia was exactly that.

With around twenty of their closest family and friends gathered together, the day felt incredibly personal, relaxed, and full of the people who mattered most. There was no pressure for the day to be anything other than what Hannah and Joe wanted it to be—and that made it absolutely perfect.

They were the kind of couple every photographer hopes to work with: easygoing, trusting, incredibly kind, and completely in love with one another.

And that trust allowed me to do what I love most—document the day as it naturally unfolded.

An Intimate Wedding at The Wool Factory

The Wool Factory was such a beautiful setting for their celebration. The historic Charlottesville venue already has so much character, but the intimacy of Hannah and Joe’s wedding allowed every detail to feel especially meaningful.

Rather than a large production, the focus was on good food, good music, and the people they loved most.

And it was wonderful.

Their guests gathered together for an incredible dinner by candlelight, creating the kind of warm, romantic atmosphere that makes you want to linger a little longer at the table. The evening continued with amazing food, live music, laughter, conversation, and all the little moments that happen when twenty-something people who genuinely love you are gathered in one place to celebrate your marriage.

A Wedding Day That Felt Like Them

What I loved most about Hannah and Joe’s wedding was how effortlessly it felt like them.

They trusted me completely, which meant I could photograph the quiet moments alongside the big ones—the way they looked at each other, the laughter between friends, the hugs from family, the atmosphere of the dinner table, and all of the little pieces that might otherwise be forgotten.

There was something incredibly special about witnessing two people who clearly love one another choose to celebrate their marriage in such an intentional, intimate way.

Not every wedding needs hundreds of guests or an elaborate production.

Sometimes twenty of your favorite people, a beautiful historic space, candlelight, incredible food, live music, and the person you love most are more than enough.

Charlottesville Wedding Photography at The Wool Factory

The Wool Factory is such a wonderful setting for couples who want a Charlottesville wedding that feels elevated while still being warm, welcoming, and personal.

For intimate weddings especially, I love being able to focus on the relationships and atmosphere that make the day meaningful. My approach combines candid moments and genuine emotion with timeless portraits and beautiful editorial imagery—so the final gallery feels both true to the day and timeless enough to treasure for generations.

Hannah and Joe, thank you for trusting me with such a beautiful day. It was an absolute joy to be there, and I couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful couple to photograph. Your family was so incredibly kind to me and welcoming. Your wedding was intimate, joyful, and completely you—and I loved every minute of it.
